French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

French-door refrigerators blend form and function. They come with stylish double doors that reveal the large fridge on top and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features such as through-the-door dispensers, higher-end ice machines and flex drawers that can be customized make them stand out from the crowd.

We sought out experts like Ladina Schopf, interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects, for tips on how to select the best one. We looked at storage capacity, layout and energy efficiency, among other features.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The name implies that GE's Profile series is targeted at the consumer who wants to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their kitchen. This refrigerator has it all, from a Keurig K cup coffee maker in the door, to a clever dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This fridge is expensive and I expected more.

Aside from that blip however, this refrigerator is a fantastic choice. It has a large freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French door fridges. It also holds a lot of frozen food compared to other models.

Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is the standard for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It also has a decent sized ice maker in the left door, though it isn't the largest I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments to make the perfect storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is good-looking, too. The LED lighting is a nice touch and the inside storage bins have an additional shelf that folds up beneath itself to make it possible to store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their plastic textured coatings a bit rough on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you would expect from a refrigerator in this price range. This includes Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and allows you to manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also offers numerous options for customizing. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice to have GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill the option that is found in a few GE refrigerators that allow users to set the amount of cups they wish to dispense. The fridge shows a countdown to display how much water remains however it's not as effective as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Created to appear as a seamless element of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer and two compressors for preserving food items. The ice maker is one of the most efficient we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice that is low in use of water.  french door refrigerator freezer  is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette with an attractive design and top of the highest quality food preservation.

This fridge was rated as the top in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0°F and never changed by more than a fraction, this is crucial to prevent freezing burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, achieving the temperature that was set for the initial setting within an hour and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our tests.

Bosch has a reputation for premium appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app lets you monitor and manage your fridge remotely using your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is expensive, but it comes with great features and capabilities for the cost.

While the fridge is an amazing piece of equipment, it's important to know the limitations. It is possible to be inventive with tall items since the fridge is limited in shelf space. The shelves aren't impervious to spills and could easily be damaged or stained by sharp items. It's easy to remove the refrigerator trays, but be sure to clean them frequently to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great option for those who require lots of space within a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has the standard French door layout, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set crisper drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give taller items more headroom. There's also a full-width drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the nice features of this refrigerator is that the ice maker is in the freezer, making it simple to move ice into the fridge to be used when it is needed. The freezer also features thoughtful design features, such as sliding drawers that allow you to organize your belongings. It also has a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food and a separate container for storing ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your refrigerator from your smartphone. It's a nice way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't enhance the performance of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than other refrigerators we test. This could be due to its bigger capacity.

The other issue we have with this refrigerator is its doors. They have sunken handles on the front that allow smaller people to pull them open from the bottom, but they're still difficult for taller people to pull shut without slamming them. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handle.

french style fridge freezer -Depth MAX is a ideal choice for those who want to combine the advantages of a French-door fridge's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It's also less expensive than the top counter depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which makes it a great option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option if you want a French-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a basic design that's not as striking in appearance like some of the competitors, but it has enough features to make it a solid option. Its most important feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. The drawer lets you direct a portion of your fridge's cooling power into this area so that you can store foods that require special attention. This feature can be adjusted using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. It is also possible to use this to adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge, but I've noticed that adjusting the general settings tends to be more effective than specific ones.

In my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures were fairly constant across the different areas of the fridge. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a solid performance, but isn't quite at the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat in order to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge resistant" finish. It does an excellent job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
